Responsible Pet Ownership in Collingwood
The Town’s Responsible Pet Ownership By-law helps ensure responsible pet ownership by setting rules for the care, control, and licensing of pets within the Town of Collingwood and to maintain community safety.
Canine Control Services Include:
- Humane capture, containment, and transportation of dogs found running at large.
- Reuniting lost dogs with their owners.
- After-hours emergency response available until 8:00 p.m.
- Administration and enforcement of animal licensing within the Town of Collingwood.
- Investigation and prosecution of instances involving dog bites and dangerous dogs.
- Collaboration with other animal-related organizations such as the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, provincial inspectors from Ontario's Animal Welfare Services and local veterinarians.

Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
On-call until 8:00 p.m. for emergencies only
